Mega Activity Camp - A Zonal level program at adopted village Kantharpura
Sai Youth arranged a 2 day Zonal level program - Mega Activity camp on 30th & 31st January 2010 wherein Sai youth from North Zone, West Zone and Central Zone participated. North Zone convener Sh. Yagnesh Jani & State President SSSSO Gujarat Sh. Manohar Trikannad graced the occasion.
On 30th January '10 evening "Shochalaya Lokarpan" (handing over of toilets for public use) function was carried out. 10 low cost toilets were constructed and handed over to villagers of adopted village Kantharpura by the State President, Shri Manoharbhai Trikannad with the team from Ahmedabad Samiti led by Zonal convener Shri Yagneshbhai Jani and also supported by youths from Ahmedabd, Bhavnagar, Visnagar, Baroda and Gandhinagar districts.
Prior to the event, awareness campaigns were arranged with the Taluka Development Officer, DRDA officials and also with WASMO team for the use of toilets when erected. The youth villagers did a commendable job of digging the pits and also the 'khalkua' job. The Principal of the primary school of the village together with teachers joined in this endeavour. The State President addressed the gathering of more than 500 villagers to direct their efforts towards unity and devotion and to spread the message of love as propounded by Bhagwan.
Thereafter, a C.D. on Vyasan Mukti, a value based skit entitled 'Sai Path' was enacted by Balvikas students and also a programme. Enthused teachers of the primary school arranged a cultural activity by the primary students. Young girls presented Sari Garbo where they beautifully presented various forms with the help of sari viz. Tri colour National Flag, Peacock, lotus etc. Young boys played skit on awareness of importance of sanitation and use of toilets.
On 31st January '10, a hatric of camps viz. General Medical camp, Dental camp and Blood Grouping camp was held in which more than 200 villagers took advantage. In the early morning hours, Nagar Sankirtan was arranged. Sai Youth brother came from other districts formed groups and carried out family survey in the village. Sai Youth sisters of the Samithi in the leadership of State Coordinator Ms. Anubhuti Tandon initiated Mother & Child Care survey. The girl students of BEd. College of Gandhinagar also accompanied in the survey.
The doctors from Kalol Samiti offered services for this camp. Photos of Swami & Vibhuti were distributed. Villagers were pleased with our efforts and in fact they were keen to have latrines in all the houses. Sai Youth will be pursuing to ensure that these toilets are put to use.

Elocution Competition
The Samiti has been organizing functions jointly with the local B.Ed. college authorities. An Elocution Competition on the subject " Unity in Family' was held in which 15 students participated. Balvikas Convenor, Smt.Trupti Bhatt and senior devotee, Shri Gautam Acharya acted as judges. Prizes in the form of books on Sri Sathya Sai Baba were distributed. Certificates were also given to all the participants. A novel scheme of imparting tuition to students who have left studies in school has also been tried with the students of the college.
Republic Day Function at the adopted village
Since last couple of years, the Samiti has been taking part in the school function on this day. On 26th Janauary '10 this year prizes were given away to first three rankers from each class and also held a Gram Sabha.
